I did a silly thing (don't ask) and now I need help.

The two wires from my MSD Pro-Billet distributor (PN 8546) are black.
But one has a violet tracer stripe and the other a brown tracer stripe.

These connect to two wires at the MSD ignition unit which are solid violet and solid green.

Which wire goes to which?

Does the violet striped black wire go to the violet wire on the Ignition unit or the Green one?

Are you referring to the Magnetic pickup connector? I am looking on page 33 of the Master MSD Wiring and Tech Notes manual. The violet,(+) tracer wire has a positive polarity. The Green,(-) tracer wire has a negative.

No mate. Those are the wires from the MSD unit to the dizzy. The magnetic pickup wires out of the dizzy are black. One with violet stripe and the other with a brown stripe. I need to know which joins to which.

Using a meter seems to indicate that the brown stripe wire is the positive wire from the pick-up. But I am not 100% sure.

No mate. That diagram shows the colours of the MSD unit. It does not show the colours of the distributor pickup wires. They are different.

I went out and took a pic of my MSD Billet dizzy and 6A connection and the Black/Orange striped wire connects to the soild purple. The Black/Tan striped connects to the solid Green.

So you'rs should be the green to black/tan and the violet to Black/blue

On yours it looks like the solid green goes to the black/violet and the solid violet goes to the black/orange. Yes?

So mine should be the opposite to what you just said Eddie yes?
