Cut the top of that one off and drop in a Motorcycle battery, they are cheap and powerful enough to start the car. Then silicone the top back on. Cut out holes for the terminals and space the new battery up in the case where the terminals stick out with plastic blocks, kids toys are perfect for that as are the battery holders new batterys come with.. When the cables are bolted on the terminals it will be hard to see the cutouts. Just put grease around it. Weight savings=30-40 lbs.

I would stick with the big battery.

Or will I have to bring my jumper cables to Santa Pod with me?

I agree. The right battery size just barely fits in the battery tray.

There used to be a good (DOS-based) drag-racing simulation software simply called "race" that did give some good advice. I remember this one : "Use a lighter pilot"!
