Service Manual woes- 71 Horn Relay

I can't find the Horn relay on my 71. The Manual says its either on the fuse block (which mine isn't) or "mounted in the passenger compartment, under the instrument panel at left pad". What is LEFT PAD? Mine has AirCon- i can't find anything around there. There's also supposed to be a wire from the "B" terminal of the starter relay- which one is this please? The smaller lower terminals or the big red one? In fact i have scoured the wiring schematics and the horns in the Eng Bay Wiring are not even there!

thanks Christer, i have seen those pics, yes. I know where it can go on the fuse block which is one location, but don't know what the manual means for its description of the other location in the passenger compartment.

It has to be under there unless someone hacked into the wiring and possibly placed it in the engine compartment? Did you check under the whole dash side to side from underneath?

I believe that you have misinterpretated the service manual. Both the ´70 and the ´74 manuals (See scans below) says that the horn relay is supposed to be mounted on the fuse block.

According to the ´70 manual, the "left pad" is more correctly the "left kick pad" (did you forget the "kick"?). I interpret that as if they are trying to describe WHERE the fuse block is located - not very far from the left kick panel (kick pad=kick panel?)

Well, this makes sence to me and I hope I am correct.
