The entire harness it gaff taped togther Id need to separate all of it, the wire is black and there is nowhere it to connect.

dave-r wrote:Wires do not run nowhere. They all run somewhere. So where is the other end connected to?

If possible tell me what colour the wire is.

It looks a bit like the wire for the brake warning light from the switch in the brake line.

It sounds like the brake lamp waning switch wire as I suspected.

It fixes to a block that joins the brake lines under the brake master cylinder. On the chassis right opposite the starter motor.

You don't really need it. It switches on the brake warning light in the dash if you have no pressure in one of the brake circuits.

So somebody might have gaff taped it up as far as the starter relay for no reason or than an accident??

If that is what it is.

I don't bother with mine. It does not seem to work on my car.

Well if thats the case and if thats what it is then I can move on...so if this isnt connected then the red parking brake lighton the dash wont come on is this correct?

The light should still come on when you apply the "emergancy" brake.

Lads good news...Shes starting first turn of the key......

Ran a test cable from the starter relay through the drivers window down to the wiring up into the steering column I turned the key and she fired..from there I took my hand away from the key and she turned back to the run position and she done a beegees on me...she stayed alive!!

I took off the new connection and reconnected the old wiring and tried her again and right enough she fired everytime....

Im still baffled by the whole thing...but maybe the new parts and testing everything may have solved it!!! :D

So thanks for all of the help and ideas n stuff...oh this isnt a goodbye...I just wanted to say thanks..I so happy she is ALIVE again...I will be driving her to Santa Pod next year!!!

Glad to hear it Wayne. But I would still want to know why. Sounds like a short to ground wiring problem, sometimes they can be difficult to find if intermittent. But then again, drive it awhile and if nothing happens..... :s002: That's Franken'Steen' not Stein!!!

Ask your buddy Wayne, if he can perform a continuity test on the suspect circuits at the bulkhead connector. I had a simple short to ground on my headlight wiring at the bucket, it chafed the companion wiring and caused the dash lights to short,(they are on the same circuit), I thought it was at the switch because it was intermittent and could be caused by wiggling the switch, it was at the headlight and not the switch. I was about to 'tear' into the dash until I talked it over with someone else and started checking everything within easy reach and it was discovered.
