Could someone tell me how you remove and reinstall the pulley from an alternator. I am assuming you use a wheel puller to remove it and do you press the new one on and if so would you use loctite on it?

You have to use a bearing puller. They press on.

I don't have either so I cut the old one off and managed to press the new one on by putting it against a door frame and with a block of wood and a jack on its side against the other side of the frame.

I wouldn't bother. When I say press on I really mean it. They are a VERY tight fit. Maybe a ton of pressure to push it on?

Oh and if you use a door frame like me then pick one the wife will never see. Then fill and re-paint it when she is not looking.

G'day Ian from Canada. Thanks for the heads up. I decided I better take it to an alternator shop.
