Wiper Motor and Wiper Switch hookups on 1970 Challenger?

Hello,
Can someone please explain the wiper motor and wiper switch hookups for a 1970 Dodge Challenger to me? I have the schematic, but I cannot figure out what the 6 pins are connected to. What is V4-18R? What is V3-18BR? What is V6-18DBL? What is V5-18DGN? How do these connect to the wiper motor control switch on the dashboard? Also, how is the dimmer switch hooked up? I measured the resistance across it and it appears to range from 150 ohm to over a mega ohm. The circuit diagrams posted on this site are not quite clear to me.

Please help :hmmm:

The key in the corner of the diagrams explains what the colour codes are.

18 is the gauge of the wire. R = red. BR = brown. DBL = dark blue. DGN = dark green. * = with tracer.

They connect to the bulkhead connector with one plug. The test procedures for the motor are written in the workshop manual and also posted here someplace.

Where the diagrams are confusing is in the identification of the bulkhead connector terminals. On some diagrams they are numbered and on others they are identified with letters.

With the standard connectors it all hooks up easily as each connector can only fit in the correct location on the bulkhead connector.

But if you are asking what the purpose is of each wire i can't answer that.

Look at chapter 8 page 67 of the manual. It might help.

Yes, I am looking for the purpose of each wire as I am not going to use the standard wiring harness, I am building my own harness. Where did you find the referenced manual? Is it available online for free or buy?

You can buy re-print of the original factory manual from restoration places like Year One. Or get a CD-ROM version from moparmanuals.com
