electric fan installation

I know this is probably posted somewhere already since there isn't a question that you guys can't answer.
I'm looking to install a Be Cool electric pusher fan on my 73 challenger, I want to run it off of a toggle switch that I can turn on when I'm sitting or after the car is parked. I need a fan relay? I have a blue wire (hot) and a black wire (ground) exiting the fan, ground to the chasis, blue to in line fuse, then to the relay. from relay to toggle switch, from toggle switch to fuse box? any help would be appreciated.

That sounds about right. I would put the fuse before the relay, not sure if it matters though?? The relay has a lead that needs to be hooked to the battery also and you should be good to go.

Thanks spitfire, can't believe these things don't come with instructions.

Use a big in-line fuse between the battery and the relay.

It is the wire carrying the most current you should worry about and the wire to the battery could be carrying 35amps with a big fan.

The only thing we add to the Summit wiring diagram is a fuse in the keyed power circuit, just a cheap little 10 amp inline fuse.

If the relay fails and burns up it can cause a dead short to key circuit, it $2.00 worth of cheap insurance.
