heater blower motor

Postby dewing » 30 Jul 2004 12:39

I need help with my heating & air blower motor. It was working on all 3 speeds, however it didn't seem to blow fast. Now it only works on low & I mean low, can barley feel it.The fan switch has no effect on speed. I put 12 v to motor & it runs fast, so motor is ok. The only other thing it could be is fan sw or the resitor in blower housing. Could someone tell me which it might be before buying these parts, thanks Don.

First make sure it is getting the correct voltage, second there may be something in there like leaves, happened to me, and it might just need to be replaced, granted it is 30 years old.

Sometimes you get corrosion on the connectors at the resistors. Sometimes the wires burn a bit too if the connection was bad. Try cleaning everything up first.
