tachometer not working

Postby turbocal » 17 May 2004 21:42

I have a 1970 challenger, 440ci with accel ignition and msd 6A. When I hook the green wire of an after market tachometer to the negative side of the accel ignition, the tachometer does not work. What do I need to do to get this tachometer working. thanks, calvin

I think it has something to do with the MSD unit. Check out their web site for advice.

If you use a MSD ingition control box there is a tach port/wire on that you have to hook up to.

I think on some of their units you used to have to buy an adaptor for the tach?

Yea dave your right, there is something about msd coils and igniton boxs that you cant just hook a tach right up to them.

Thats the thing you need.
