Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of replacement gauges for a standard dash assembly and if it is possible to mount aftermarket gauges onto a stock bezel?

It is possible to mount anything you like in the dash. But fitting non-stock gauges will mean doing a lot of cutting and other minor metal work. Probably a bit tricky in practice but far from impossible. If you pull the dash apart you will see what I mean. You will not find repacements that just bolt-in.

Most common gauges are 2-1/16th or 2-5/8ths in diameter but if you look in the Summit Racing catalog you will see thay come in many other sizes too. You will have to measure the hole size in your dash to see what might fit.

The standard gauges are not available new but you can get used from many places like e-bay or people that part out cars.

You can also get your old gauges rebuilt like new. I have also seen this done with a color change to the faces, i.e. a white face instead of black.

Dave thanks for the quick reply. Do you happen to know how the stock gauges are mounted? Are they screwed in?

Hell yeah. There are a million screws in the dash. The gauges are all mounted to a metal frame. The dash comes apart fairly easily after you drop the steering column down.

You can buy a tach for instance, that will fit where the optional clock is meant to be, in the std-cluster. I have seen a post about these gauges on this MB, but I can´t find it right now. (The look is exactly like the other gauges.)

http://www.redlinegaugeworks.com/ has rebuilt or replaced everything in my cluster except the fuel gauge, and that's next.
