Fender mounted turn signals

I want to add these to my '74. I know I'll have to make a hole to mount 'em, but my question concerns the connection. Seems to be a single wire/plug attached to the light assembly, maybe 18" long - where does that plug in to make it work?

they plug into another cable that is usually off the signal lights- check where the plug connects to the lights

Well, I got the car, and I think I've found the plug in, but they don't work. I haven't thoroughly examined the bulb yet, but that's next. Seems to be a lot of black gum-type stuff all over the "loose" connections and I may have to clean that out more effectively to make an effective connection. Man, I hope these things work.

check the connector of the plug- if they arn't used they are usually very dirty/full of mud or bugs. once you clean it-check to see if there is power to the plug with that sides signal on.
