Front turn signal/ indicators

Postby cv70chall » 10 Mar 2014 13:39

I have a gremlin.
My right directional works fine- exterior lights flash and dash indicator blinks. The left turn signal is having issues.
Rear light blinks.
Front/ Fender lamps DO NOT
Dash indicator DOES NOT
Yet, the flasher is clicking.

Any ideas where I should start looking on this one?

Check for high resistance between the lamp housing and chassis ground. I had to run in a grounding wire to each of mine to get them to work well.

Will do,
Weird thing is- they were working fine..then intermittently- now not at all.
I was working in the trunk and by the steering column. Could there be anything I could check under the dash?

You could check the connector below the steering column that comes from the turn signal switch.

Dave-

Left Turn signal- you can hear the flasher but there is no dash indicator. Front lamp does not flash but rear tail light DOES.

Right Turn signal- dash indicator, front and rear lamps work normally.
Could it still be the plug at the column?

Stating the obvious but have you tried checking the left front bulb? Or tried changing it/

That connector is from the turn signal switch. Because the rears are actually the brake lights there is a wire for each corner of the car.

Left Front = Light Green
Left Rear = Dark Green
Right Front = Tan
Right Rear = Brown/Red
Pink = Hazzard Flasher
Brake = White

Bad connection from the outside of the bulb holder to ground is still the strongest bet.

Found it!
All front lights have solid ground. Checked under the dash and there is a loose wire above the column, so I'll rummage around there and see what I can find. I would imagine it's the light green wire as you suggested.

Ugh..
