Do you know how to adjust the shift rods and the linkage? There is a procedure that involves setting the clearance with a drill bit, it's in the FSM. You might have to take the side cover off and inspect the reverse gear detent. Mopar muscle magazine has an excellent link that describes the procedure but I couldnt get the link up.

Ta for that Eddie, I'll check out their site. I have noticed that the small plate is missing that goes across the back of the housing and has the small square headed bolt go thru it. Can fab that easy enough, but pretty sure I'm gonna have to take the shifter apart. When you operate yours do you have to push hard down on it to get it into reverse position then? It may be just that because I don't have it installed in the car and its flopping all ove the workbench that I can't push down on it properly

Yes, I have to push down on the shifter then move it to the left and up. It doesnt take a lot of effort, it just has to be in the right position.

I think I've sort of sussed it now Eddie, stripped the shifter mech apart this evening and made that little plate , can get it to click over now, just needs a thorough clean in the parts washer and reassembling with fresh grease

This works perfect now, just one small prob and that is to obtain a correct shifter mounting plate, Brewers have them and a few other service items I need. These guys are reputable right? Just wanna check before I ask em to ship here :?: :D

Just got me order from Brewers, well happy, quality stuff, good prices and fast freight service. Installed the reverse shift rod and billet shifter plate and the box shifts into gear slick and sweet, can't wait to get the little bleeder in the car and start mashing the pedal again
