Posted: 13 Jul 2011 20:32Well after this problem has cropped up in the last month or so ,
I changed the fluid ( 12 QUARTS) deep pan and a cooler

,a little dirty and the filter was not that bad ,
BUT it just doesn't like reverse and now I have to take it to Mopower Masters,
he has a lift so we can pull the pan and check the valve body, bands etc.
I dont know to much about transmissions,I put in D and it goes, put it in R and it dont go.....so I will see on Saturday wtf is the issue

But I digest,,,Drew's R/T is simply one of the nicest, baddest 440 E-Bodies around. It handles like it's on rails, accelerates hard,,loose and clean and shifted great when I was in it plus Drew is too busy driving around BMW's, Porches, and Carvettes to shift!

This is stright out of Carl Munroe's book: adjustment should be 2 turns with a 5.0 lever 2 1/4 turns with an unknown lever or one that is 4.2 and 4.25 2 1/2 turns if it's less than a 4.0 lever.

My fluid is at the opperating mark and clean. Just put a Trans-Go shift kit in it a couple of years ago. I found a Mopar guy up here that will take care of the total rebuild of the tranny plus rebuild of the torque converter, to the current engines stall spec's. $800.00 to $1000.00. Timing sucks though. I spent way more on the rear quarter's than, anticipated.

Damn near had the thing paid off.
