I have some serious wood! I wonder if thats his all new 5-Speed 18 splined beast or just the A833 cast in alluminum? It's either gonna be a Keisler Tremec 5-Speed or Passon 5-Speed for my 73 :D

That pic came from a Mopar forum of some sort, Jamie Passon was chatting on it, said it was the new 5 speed, designed to use all the same factory mounts and hardware. Looks really impressive, they were debating the drivetrain angles with the Keisler box, which of course is not an ossue with this new box.
In fact the more I look at it the only issue I have is the rumoured $4300 price tag, even that ain't really putting me off :)

Thanks for the info Adrian, Yeah it's a lot of money,,but I think it would pay for itself after a few years for what I want to do with it. Long road trips and some gear reduction. I'm sure it's as strong or stronger than the 18 Spline OEM Chrysler box. That input shaft support is Billet Steel, I'm sure the counter shaft is both bushed and keyed to the main box and the synchro's are cut for synthetic gear lube to allow for fast shifts. The more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to stay with the Passon/OEM style gear box and mounts because as you said it retains the factory angles with the stock,(I assume), trans mount and crossmember. I have over 10,000K in my engine project including Specialty Tools&Dyno Time so yeah if you want the 'best' it's like anything else. You gotta pay the piper. If I can use a hydraulic slave cylinder for the throwout bearing with the Passon box I will use that. If I cant I may go TKO,,I'll research it further!!

Keisler are bringing out a new box that supposedly has none of the issues the Tremec box comes with - including the fitment issues. Should also be a straight bolt in for those with a 4 speed hump.

Price is under $3000, and an E-Body version should be ready in the 2nd Quarter.

The Passon box will be dearer for sure, but I'd expect top quality. Not sure about the RS box, looks like a modern box tho', and thats where I think the Passon box will score sales over it. Most Mopar fans will want a box thats at least developed from their original transmission, looks the same, etc.
Don't think there will be issues with the Passon alloy cases flexing, judging by the look of it :?:

I have been watching the thread on moparts about Passon's 5-speed, but I cant' see that pic anywhere!
Regarding the new Keisler transmission, I seriously doubt it will have comparable torque specs.

I'd like to know the insides of this transmission, how does one get 5 forward gears with just 2 forks?

It sure doesn't look like it will be flexing, that's for sure. I'd say it does look a bit massive.

Good question Fabien, I would assume an additional gear on the mainshaft and an additional gear on the synchronizer assembly on the cluster gear using the 2 shift forks. At least this is how I understand it.
