Kickdown linkage to kickdown lever- Sloppy fit??

Postby Goldenblack440 » 30 Sep 2008 17:51

HI, does any one know if this end (see pic) of the kick down linkage that goes to the lever on the trans is supposed to be a sloppy fit in the hole on the lever? Sorry the picture is not clear, let me know if you require photos. I have two complete setups- both are identical, in that both kickdown lever arms have a hole that is far too big for the linkage pin. The retaining clip holds it in but does not stop the play. Is it supposed to be like this, or snug fit like the other linkages that go onto the bellcrank etc?

THanks

Red arrow shows the area i am talking about. The hole is way too big, is it supposed to be like this for "play"?

Is it a small block or a big block?

I don't remember mine having a huge amount of play but as long as the linkage has enough adjustment so that the lever can get pushed right back it doesn't really matter. 1 or 2mm of play is going to make no difference.
