It was 25mins past 1am here when I wrote that. Feeling a bit rough today. Suffering a little from "brown ale bottom".

Anyway. It is spelt Lokar. Nice bit of kit.

I'm pretty sure the kickdown controls line pressure within the transmission's valve body circuit, whatever style you choose the MoPar style or the nice Lokar setup it must be adjusted properly or the tranny will burn it's clutch packs and expire. Re-pops are available at www.manciniracing.com I have a Lokar throttle cable on my truck and it had to be cut to fit.

ok my set up has a bracket that mounts to the carb stud , it finally worked loose , and eventually pulled the stud, there is a set screw on the bracket , but it still moves, i dont like putting that much force on a carb stud in aluminum manifold,a carb needs about 15 lbs of torque, and this bracket requires more than that, i have found a much better bracket and i will provide photos in the coming days , it is too cold out side now 20 degrees f, but i think i have a fix , im not sold on lokar for everything , likt there flexible trans dipstick, it rubs against the casing when i pull it out making for an inaccurate reading, so i put the stock back on ,but i will fix this an d show photos cause i like the cables a little better that the linkage :rage:

Hey Eddie,

I'll have to post something out here once I settle up on a cable, sounds like the set up is key. Thanks for the response.

Rich just to let you know, www.manciniracing.com Part#3350 for the KD Part# 3395 for the bracket that fits both accelerator cable and KD cable on one bracket.Or www.aandatrans.com sells the KD linkage as an exact re-pop of the original part but it's pricey around 250.00-275.00 but they are exact reproductions even having the correct finish and style. Keep us posted, BTW, it too is 18 Degrees F. outside. Too cold for me. :sleepy: I dont drink so I have to rely on the body of a large woman to keep my fraile skinny bones warm and flat!

ok this is what i have so far 1 st pic is the old bracket i have modified but wont use , cause i dont like using one stud for the bracket, 2nd pic is new bracket, using 2 studs, but now my cables are too short and i have ordered new ones , by friday i will have them and will show new assembled pics, also i had to midifiy the mounting bracket for the cables , cause the holes are for gm , i cant find mopar fittings any ideas dave?, this will work once i get the parts, but man its hard to find custom after market stuff sometimes,.. but this is kinda popular and i feel the cheap bracket from lokar sucks big time and of course i called them and they said they havent had any problems! :rage:i also plan on bolting the carb down 1st and then using another nut bolt the bracket down i dont know yet any advice is welcome!

I have never tried to fit one of these myself but here is a lokar kickdown my mate installed himself on his 318 Barracuda.

This Bouchillon link shows the various linkage setups including sixpack carbs, may be of help.

Hey Dave,

In looking at the photos, does the cable loop around and connect to the transmission from the "back side" of the tranny? From your photos, and the web site you provided, it looks like this is the case.

This is different from the stock 3 piece set-up, right?

These kits do not include the piece that connects to the transmission and acts as the lever? I am still needing to find one.

Thanks again Dave for your help on this.

You have to read the text as well as look at the photos. :P

Step 3. Route CABLE onto top of main transmission case, by looping towards passenger side and following centerline of transmission case. Feed loose end of CABLE between back of engine and firewall, making CABLE (CARB. END) accessible from top of engine.

Very different. The lever on the trans is pulled back rather than pushed.

These kits do not include the piece that connects to the transmission and acts as the lever?

No idea. As I said, I have never done one! :D

If it is a Demon or anything similar it will actually flow the same as a stock 850 Holley. Barry Grant etc only call them 750s because they use the same diameter throttle blades as the Holley 750 but they actually flow much better.
