Hi guys.
I filled my Hughes 727 with dexron III oil but some people are telling me that is better use Dexron II for this kind of trannys.
What do you think about it?
Now, without engine is good moment to make changes but if not necessary I will keep the same oil.
Sometimes I checked the gauge at 210-215 fahrenheit, climbing up to home, but I will install a new radiator with electric fan to cool it.

I would use whatever Hughes Transmissions recommends as they built the clutch pack and steels used in your tranny, some of these items used are lubrication "sensitive"

I have used type F trans fluid in mine for years. It was the standard fluid in many auto transmissions.

It was not for the MoPar trans though. Using it in a torqueflite has the effect of making the shifts a bit firmer.

Try looking up Castrol. I am sure you can order the oil direct from them.

Type F is for Ford automatic transmissions. It will work, and may firm up your shifts as Dave mentioned. I was told B&M TRICKSHIFT is type F with a blue dye.
