Chris. All your braking effort goes into applying the bakes. Instead of some of that effort being wasted by ballooning up the hose. That is what I meant.

Also SS braided hose lasts a very long time and does not have the problems of internally collapsing as stock hose does from time to time.

Plus it looks cool! :D

Jon wrote:As for the brake job, I recently had been painting under the fenderwells and noticed the front brake hoses were old and cracking. I replaced them with local auto parts stock. 14-5/8 long for my 70. There is one in the rear just above the axle also. For some reason they don't have a part number for that one on a 70 but I heard a 71 will work. Anyone know of this?

http://www.moparts.com/Tech/Archive/brake/6.html gives another answer than the Year One catalog. If I had to choose between these two sources, I would choose to believe moparts.com . Sorry if I misled you before.

I don't think much of that means that they do not fit the same. The length is the most critical thing. I still believe any E-body hose would fit any year model and probably any B-body from that same timescale too as they all shared the same suspension dimensions and brakes.

I have B-body disc brakes on my Challenger.

So what you are saying is that you don´t strive for 100% numbers matching-, date code-, original productionmarks-, original paint flaws-, fender tag-, broadcastsheet- correctness? I am truly shocked! :s008:
