My 72 was a base coupe ordered with a 340. Was the 3.55 sure grip std on the 340 cars or was the 3.23 open standard and the 3.55 an option. The former owner of the car swears he ordered it with 3.55 sure grip, but when I decode the build sheet it says its a 3.23 open.

I'm gonna jack it up tonight and test for sure grip, but I was just curious right now

I think you only got 3.55 rear gears with the A36 Performance Axle Package if I am not mistaken.
