How can I tell if my Rearend is a posi?

Does anyone know how to tell if the 8.75 rearend in my 73 Barracuda is a posi without taking it apart???? The car is set up for drag racing but I do not know it's history. Any help would be great.

I think if you jack it up and spin one wheel if the other spins the same way then you have a posi, if it spins opposite then its a open diff

That is the correct test for a working limited slip diff.

We don't call them "posi" around these here parts. The correct name for a Mopar limited slip diff is a "Sure-Grip". :wink:
