Killed another 727

The Education process continues one broken part at a time. I find out that a Bolt-in Sprag unit is a good thing, as I had splines (or bits and pieces) in the pan. Lost the front clutch pack as well.

The moral to the story is research what makes a great tranny, if you build it or have it done. The tranny shop & I had very one sided discussion which ended with a very well done tranny at no cost to me, other than being without my car for 3 weeks while I rounded up the parts I wanted in it.

Do you mean the overrunning clutch?

The bolt in modification is very good insurance and something I would consider the next time I have a trans in bits.

You were lucky the trans did not explode and rip the floor apart.

Take it easy when letting off the throttle during a burnout.

Any yes I was lucky that the tranny did not explode! Especially since I have the Carbon Fiber Trans shield sitting in the shop ready for install!

Dave,
