Just curious if anyone had a locker setup in their chally - Ive heard some good stuff about them except that when it disengages its quite noticeably uncomfortably so..is it that bad and any suggestions on such?

I do not see any reason for having one. The standard suregrip works fine.

Unless you want to put a lot of horse power through it, then the 8 3/4 Suregrip is useless. At that point your only practical option is a Dana

I don't know about that Dave, I broke one with about 450HP on a normally aspirated smallblock, it has a lot to do with how hard you launch the car and how much grip you have etc.
You give yours a few Banzi launches on slicks at the track and see what happens? It'll be back to one wheel burnouts in no time dude.
Unfortunately you can't run a spool one the street, I did but it's NO fun at all. Long term if you have a heavy car making a lot of power the only real option is a Dana, but it's a great heavy lump, I remember reading some non-sense in HotRod magazine about it being only 35lbs heavier than an 8 3/4, I won't even bother to comment here!!!

Actually no it only had that wimpy 10" 3000RPM convertor in it, just a bit of 'spirited driving'
Me finger's good thanks, good job it was on my left hand, tee hee

If you think it's wimpy, just pass it through Andy... Image

I did a long time back Hans sorry, I now have a nice ATi custom 8" one in there now that was built for a 300HP shot of nitrous!
If you want a good 'vertor speak to them they are about the best I've found.
We smallblock guys need to stick together mate, these lardy 440's don't have a hopeImage
