Can anybody tell me which one of the 2 cooling lines is the pressure side & return side on a 727 transmission. Is the front or rear nipple (on the transmission case) the pressure side? Thanks!

I have a damaged cooler line, that I have cut the end off (length is still okay).
Is there a tool that flares the end? Or do I need to replace the entire line? Who would I go to to have this done?

im in the air-conditioning trade and we use flaring tools,you could try a local a/c or fridge guy.

Another sourse would be any automotive repair shop.
Transmission cooler lines are usually 5/16" steel brake line, and any auto repair shop should have the common flairing tool for doing brake lines.
Remember too, that you have to do an inverted flair. The guys at the brake shop will know what you mean by that.
If that is of no help, purchase a 5/16" brake line and then get a 62-5 Weatherhead coupling type fitting and join it to you present line.

I will hopefully be bending stainless lines for my trans to my trans cooler this weekend. how much flex does the tranny actually have in terms of hard lines. i will be running them over to the frame and along side the frame then up to my cooler as i do not have a factory radiator. do i need to have some rubber/stainless braided hose inbetween the hard lines and the tranny or can they bolt right up?

I am not an expert on metal but my gut feeling would be this;
I think stainless is quite brittle and does not like to be flexed very much over a short length.
The cooler lines in a standard car are mild steel hard lines that run from the trans to the cooler without being fixed to anything at all?
Because the engine/trans moves and the radiator does not there is some flex but it is over a long length and mild steel will flex like that with no problems.
If you have to fix the lines to the frame I would use stainless braided hose for the short run from the frame to the trans. It would not cost a lot more to do the whole length in braided hose.
