How to determine a 727 TorqueFlite ?

He guys, need your help again. Last week I read an article that said all `72 340 engines had the 727 TorqueFlite connected to it, but how can I check the transmission is really a 727 TorqueFlite ?

I think all 340s had 727 transmissions. Look at the shape of the sump where the dipstick enters the trans. If the edge of the sump on that side is straight it is a 904. If there is a bulge it is a 727. Easy.
