my rear axle is not centered on the stock spring perches. i am going to try to get it centered (myself);any tips?

Just take your time and measure carefully.

I found that measuring from the brake backing plate to the U-bolts was not very good as it is possible to move the U-bolts up and down the axle by quite a few mm.

Have a good look at it and I am sure you will come up with a good idea!

When you tighten everything back up make sure the U-bolts are straight and check it again.

Centering the axle between the springs is not as critical as you might think. More important is making sure the distance from each rear wheel to each front wheel is the same.
