Since I am in the process of turning a lame 225 car in a big block street terror I am looking to pitch my 7.25" rear for a Dana 60, only problem is I am on a real world budget so an original E-body unit is out of my price range. I am looking to buy a truck 60 and have it narrowed for my Challenger. So does anybody know what vehicles could provide a good donor rear? I keep seeing newer 3/4 ton Rams that appear to have Dana 60s under them?

Ok I found out that many 70's and 80's 4x4 and 3/4 and 1 ton F**d, Ch***y, and Dodge trucks all used Dana 60 rears. I have been reading that the axle splines changed and that ( maybe?! ) the imput shaft splines changed. Does anybody know for sure? I'm guessing I can get a truck rear and strip it down to the bare case, have it narrowed and rebuild it with pass. car stuff. I'm betting I could sell some of the truck parts, like 8-lug axles and offset the cost of the mods, I should come it well under the $1600 cost of a new one.
