Hey guys I need help. Since buying my 71 Challenger a month ago, I had had a constant pan leak. I first put in a new rubber gasket, but that did not help. I then swapped pans and used blue RTV silicone with the gasket. This time I went with a cork gasket with out sealer, hoping the cork would expand and seal. Still dripping, less, but still enough to leave a trail on a drip pan. I need some advice. It does it whether it is on an slope or flat ground.

Really a dry cork gasket shouldve worked fine.
That's all I've ever used on a trans pan.
Are the bolts too right & distorting the pan? Easy to do even on a new pan.
Have you checked the seal on the gear selector shaft to sees if fluid is running down to the pan rail?

As Adrian says the pan needs to be flat but you also have to be sure the leak is actually the pan gasket to start with as any leak from the gear selector shaft or the band shaft end next to the tail housing will run around the top of the pan and look as if it is the pan gasket.
