I think we might have missed something on the throttle assembly. It seems as if the bracket at the end (firewall side) of the assembly does not stand up vertically enough- hence my throttle pressure is off and apparently even the second set of barrels on the carb aren't even opening.
Does anyone have a stock photo of what the assembly is supposed to look like so I have a comparison?
Wrong throttle bracket?
Wrong return spring?

It all looks good to me Chuck cos it all looks the same as my 440's cable and Eddy, obviously excluding the kickdown linkage.
Have you taken all the hardware off the throttle arm and made sure the carb throttle blades open ok on their own?

Don't forget there is an air door above the secondary throttle blades. You have to push open that by hand to see the throttle blades under it.

I don't like those one-piece kickdown linkages. I prefer the three piece version but I think that was only on big blocks??

The kickdown linkage should be adjustable for length. Check the workshop manual.

Set up instruction. The throttle instructions are in the "fuel" section of the manual. But basically just pull the cable to take out all the slack and make sure the carb opens all the way when you push the pedal down.

You are missing the spring that holds the kickdown linkage against the throttle stud. You can see it in the picture Dave posted. It goes from the carb stud to the kickdown linkage. The slotted bar needs to be pushed up against the carb stud at all times.

With the carb at wide open throttle, push the kickdown linkage all the way to the rear and lock it down. This way you have full line pressure at WOT. You can fine tune it from there if your shift points are too high for your liking. You will burn up the trans if you don't get the kickdown hooked up properly.

The spring you are missing is the lima bean colored one in my picture. You can see that it holds the linkage up against the carb stud.

After toying with this, we figured it seems that the linkage bar we are using isn't correct, in that it's too short (not tall enough or long enough) to enable the throttle bracket to stand upright. (See both pix with green arrows)
I understand the second photo is a 2BBL setup and i'm using a 4BBL setup, but the kickdown bar should still allow that throttle bracket to stand upright in order to provide full range of movement.
Question is- does the 360-727 combo use the same kickdown bar as the 360-904 combo?
