Correct Oil for a 1972 Phord 302 engine.

I feel so dirty and need a shower after post this on a Mopar site but cant get a straight answer...

Having a real tug-o-war as to know which oil to put in her guys..could do with help on this.

Need to do the oil change and git rid of her sharpish.

Tend taking Ade on a serious piss up lol......

If you are getting rid of it then it really does not matter.

But most engines from the 60s/70s (including your stock Challenger) like a 20-40w oil.

Spoke to the gut who had it before me this morning finally got him on the phone and he said he used a 20w 50. Go with that I suppose

I wouldn't use a 20-50w in a performance engine as it would put a heavy strain on the oil pump drive.

But on an old shagged engine it can help make it sound a bit less shagged.
