Can the veteran Muppets tell me if this is an E body variable wiper switch?.....looks nothing like the 2 and 3 speed units I've had before

Muppets? No, I don´t follow you.
It is most likey correct if it has got part number 2770380 stamped on it.
I got some information from this thread:

Thanks Christer, I took a look at it and the number reads 2770378.
When the garage has warmed up a bit I'll try to install it

Just checked it on a Parts No search on the net and it came up as 67/68 Barracuda and Valiant, still may work tho as long as it actually fits

From the parts interchange manual:
Usage (2770378): 1968-69 Barracuda, Dart and Valiant with variable speed vipers.

That reminds me of my own garage. Before it has started to heat up, the temperature is only +5°C (41F)

My garage is only about +2C this time of year. My heater is up in the loft and I can't be bothered to bring it down.

Some tend to compete on who has the coolest garage, but usually it is not about who is having the lowest temperature....Ok, you win Dave.
