Hugger headers are for tight spaces and flow worse than some regular manifolds.
Cheap headers will need a fair but of hammering to get to fit. Then you will find they leak at the head all the time. Plus they will only last a few years.
I used to use cheap headers (like Hedman) all the time because I have always been on a very tight budget. But eventually I realised it was a false economy and way too much hassle. I bought a pair of ceramic coated Doug's headers for my Chally and boy was I glad I did. They fitted with only a small dent needed for clearence on the steering box pitman arm. Pretty good considering these had 2-inch diameter primary tubes and 3.5-inch collectors.
Apart from that they were perfect and the easiest headers I have ever fitted along with much better ground clearence.
Not sure if Dougs make them for your application. If not I would shoot for TTI. Yes they are pricey. But believe me, they are worth every penny for the hassle they save you for years.
REMEMBER! Don't use new ceramic headers when you first fire up a re-built engine to break it in. You will destroy the coating. Use an old pair of headers or stock manifolds to break the engine in. Then swap them when the engine is running OK.
The Dave giveth and the Dave taketh away.
