Piston Issue

Postby cv70chall » 09 Sep 2011 15:32

OK, so the challenges continue. The engine block is ready for re-assembly and I have a nice new engine kit complete with all the trimmings.
Problem is, the new pistons can't be joined to the old rods as they are too thick for the seat.
My dilema is this... Do I go with older pistons and give up about a point of compression or try to locate some of the newer piston rods that are narrower where they join the piston tops?
The block is dated 85.
