I bought a 1970 challenger i have been working on it for the past year. I am converting it from a single exaust to dual exhaust it have the following rear valance w/ cutouts headers 2 resenators and the pipes. I was wondering if you need to have the mufflers in the back and the heat sheild because i looked on year one and these are pretty expensive. is the heat sheild nessassary and doese anyone know where i can get a afordable pair of mufflers. Thanks Matt

You don't need the mufflers w/heat shields in the back unless you need a very quiet car. You can get affordable mufflers from any performance outlet. Don't use Year One for parts like that that you can get anywhere unless you want a "correct" type restoration.
