rubber fuel hoses

is it ok to have rubber fuel line from front to rear as my car does. had a little problem friday with a lack of fuel coming up when its warm and after a long drive ,tanks breather seems to work ok does not have a vented fuel cap but has a breather on the tank and the other 3 holes are blocked up is this ok? just wondered if my fuel lines are collapsing together when they are warm with a vacuum of fuel? will be putting a extra breather on the fuel filler neck just incase or could it just be a dodgy fuel pump, was a new pump 12months ago when the motor was built??

I'd change it to a steel tube line for safety, a rubber line can cut, perish, anything. Make up your own 1/2" line with a hand bender and some fuel pipe tubing from your local truck spares supplier, its a peice of piss

3/8ths hard fuel line will be more than big enough. But loose the rubber hose for sure.

As long as the tank has some sort of breather to let air in as the fuel is sucked out it will be fine. It only needs a small vent. More than one is pointless. But make sure it actually works.

If the fuel pump is OK it might be worth checking the rod that operates the pump. Remove the plug from the block next to where the pump mounts and the rod will come out. If it has worn a bit short the pump will not be delivering all it should. I can't remember off-hand what the correct length is though.
