Nice "Bump up" Cam Recommendation

Postby cv70chall » 07 Dec 2010 17:36

Hi Everyone-

The weather is getting colder and we're forging along with the body work, rebuilding the suspension with all new bushings, of course and looking towards getting the engine completed.
After issues with the 318 and 383 (long story) we're going with a real strong 360 motor and giving it a good renew/ dress up.
My question is, what CAM upgrade would you guys go with, given the fact that I DON'T want to have to upgrade everything in the chain afterwards. I just want a bit more performance out of the CAM and want to retain my 727 Trans and keep everything else pretty much status-quo.

Thanks and Happy Holidays!!

A friend off mine installed this :

Stock exhaust manifolds. The intake was replaced.
The purpose was to make a sleeper look engine. Idle is easy with plenty of vacuum, it's a bit more noisy than before but nothing exceptional. We did rebuild the trans but it really needed it badly. The converter is very close to stock specs.

I believe that's the last camshaft on Comp's catalog before you need headers, shorter gears, etc.
