383 Starter and Alternator

Postby cv70chall » 07 Sep 2010 12:27

So, now I've scrapped plans to revive and rebuild my 318. (Dave you can now rejoice as I should have listened to you first!)
I have a brand new starter, alternator and oil pump which were destined for my small block and I would like to know if any of these parts can be used on the 383?

Starter and alternator yes.

Big block oil pumps are completely different.

Alternator certainly, although you will need the "B" mounting brackets, starters I thought were all the same, oil pump no, sorry

Thanks Dave!
The oil pump's not that big a deal. I'm glad I can use the alternator and starter.
I'm already in search of the bracket.
