Oil Pump Choices

Posted: 07 Aug 2010 15:58I'm at a crossroads with my engine (which we're rebuilding) and want to know if it benefits me to go with a high performance oil pump, seeing as I'm going to be upgrading to a mid-level cam.
Does this make sense? It's a small price difference and I always thought that the more oil you can get to your engine the better.
I've found 2 models with Summit, one sealed and the other non-sealed.
What's the difference?
Thanks!

But, if you feel ambitious or your machinist, radiusing the block junction where the oil pump bolts onto helps a bunch. There is a sharp 90 degree turn into the oil pickup tube boss. This is a major restriction, and the modification takes a few minutes with a ball shaped carbide bit,(cast iron), die grinder. Is FREE!
