Oil Pressure

Postby MLMFLCN » 24 Jun 2010 0:26

Hello,

Have a mildly built 440, just started about a week ago. About 50 miles on it now. Just wanted to confirm some of the oil pressure readings I am seeing.

At idle and at operating temp. oil pressure is around 30. Anything above 2,000 rpm is around 75.

Also, seems to idle nicely at about 800 rpm in gear, and about 1,000 in park. These seem okay?

Just want to make sure this is all good.

Thanks,

- Rich

Idle speed in neutral or park should be 800rpm. At most 850rpm.

It sounds like you have fitted a bigger than stock cam? The carb will need tuning to suit.

I imagine there is a thread here on carb tuning? It is an Edelbrock 750.

Thanks again for the replies.

Yes. Sticky thread at the top of the Engine section.
