howdy everyone! this is my first attempt at this whole message board thing. i have been a long time challanger fan, esspecially the 72-74, because of the tail light design. i have just recently purchased a 74 challanger in pretty bad shape but seems to be all original from what i can tell. you all talking about your cars kinda makes me envious, for mine is currently not running. still trying to narrow down why. it turns over very strongly. but seems to be getting know fire to plugs. i have replaced the following items: starter, battery, carb, ecu unit, voltage regulator, ballast resistor, plugs& wires, coel, distributor & cap, and rotor cap, as well as timing chain & gears, but have not touched any wiring. the marks on the gears line up where they are supposed to. dave i did get your e-mail on checking the rotations during firing order but beings my knowledge in this area is very limited could you go more into detail please. car hasn't been started in roughly 4yrs according to all the facts i have gathered on the history of the car. i have left fuel tank and lines empty of fuel because i want to flush the tank and replace lines before i run fuel in it because it has been out in elements w/o gas cap. i have primed the carb directly just to see if it would catch but no luck. any other helpful hints anyone, for the iowa, usa guy? oh by the way joel i like the raylle scoops as well but agree that the car looks better w/o the stripes. promise not to be so long winded from now on.
