HOw to identify 340 as possible stroker?

I bought this 340, it was sold to me as a stroker. I got such a good deal on it that if its not I did not get screwed. The guy said that he knew nothing of cars or engines. He had someone professionally build it for his round track car. He said that it had a 4 inch crank in it with Ross pistons and eagle rods. He said he could tell me what parts where in it but couldnt tell me the specs on it. I got it home started pulling it apart. Def had some money sunk into the engine. The thing that bothers me is that the rods are factory rods. Pistons are definately aftermarket. Crank looks pretty strange. It does not look stock at all. He said that he thought the motor was a 408 but wasnt for sure. Everything has been balanced and looks great. He said that he had this built before stokers where popular so this might have to be a custom setup? Can you use stock rods on a stroker? Part number on the pistons are 7035P I cant seem to identify them. How do I identify anything?
