I want to put a factory exhaust system on my car but have not been able to find a place that sells them. Any suggestions? :s008:

Thanks Eddie for that info. I am now debating whether to go original or get a TTI 3" exhaust for it. An original exhaust system is like 1200 bucks.I could also go the Midas route. Any suggestions?

You have a 340 yes? Get a 2.5 inch TTI system.

Oh and Charlie. PLEASE post your questions in the correct area. The "General Chat" area is ONLY for stuff that does not fit into the other sections of the board.

Sorry about that Dave, I will post in technical section. I just got used to posting in general chat section. To punish myself I will bang my knee against the corner of the front bumper support bracket (for the 10th time). Boy does that hurt.

That is the reason I am fitting those brackets on my car at the last possible moment. :wink2:

The simple answer is that it will fit with very little hassle and is a good quality steel that will last for many many years.

I wouldn't go to 3-inch on an engine as small as the 340. 2.5 inch is a better size for a small block, is lighter, and will give more ground clearence. Less hassle to fit than a 3" system too which tends to be very tight in some areas.

I can move topics around on the board to put them in the right places. It is just a hassle to do when I am trying to get a cup of tea down me before the boss comes in.

I second that. the 3" over the axle pipes are too large. You can't have a 3" muffler in the stock position if you want one.

If you're handy with a welder, you can also get a complete exhaust line kit (Jegs, Summit), but the fit, finish, and most importantly the ground clearance, won't be as good as with a TTI kit.

Clearance is slightly better with a "H" crossover, compared to a "X".
