today i set the idle to give my car a nicer rumble and make my "shaker" sing "shakin all over" just set it at 900-1000 rpm at idle.

all though the shaker hood is a very nice option to have and it does feed the carbs fresh air when it is open. it is a pain in the a@@ to take on and off just to do some work under the shaker assembly. oh well i guess it is a small price to pay for that nasty looking duel snorkle that draws crowds every where i go. since i was at it this morning i thought it would be fun to share my photos of the step by step set up of the "shaker".

She was sh sh sh shakin! Eddie Money said it best huh Danny! I think it's 17 fasteners counting the bell crank, air cleaner top wing nuts, shaker bubble top. But man what a visual impact! It's also very heavy! Do you have your drain hose hooked up? Where is your hose pointing down at? Most people dont realize the front snout grills are cast iron! BTW, love your garage/shop and the wicked iron housed within! I also bet you are very good friends with your tire shop!

See how many non-correct things you can find! You can also see the other downspout hose on the right side. The left side exits right on top of the heater hose bracket. I wont be driving in the rain however.

ed,i guess you want to know what i can spot that is non stock. here is what i see. msd 8.5 wires and brackets set around the headers. shaker drain hoses cut. non stock battery. battery tender is on charging it seems as though your shaker sticker does not have the small lines on it,is it the photo or a different sticker? everyone knows though that you have some nasty stuff inside that motor

tire shop yes goodyear loves me. all 4 of my cars run on goodyear tires. 70 chevelle and chally have the repops and 2002 vette and 2007 gt500 have the formula 1 goodyears.

yes your right the front snorkel grills are cast iron inbeded into the fiberglass shaker bubble.they are heavy.

my car has the original hoses for the shaker rain drains.the right side goes down between the power steering unit and water pump and exits down below parrallel to the bottom of the rad. the left side has a factory bend that exits over by the big hole at the bottom of the fender area. both hoses are pretty long in size. they also make it a pain in the a@@ when putting on the bottom plate.

Your knowledge is very impressive Danny. Yep, nasty is good! Thanks for putting both cars together. I love the Yellow/Red contrast wish you lived closer. People would 'freak' seeing two N-96 70 Challengers together. The whole thing is a 'pain in the ass' but man, well worth it! It is surprising how many of the these fresh air cars caught on fire back in the day. Do you carry a fire bottle with you? I keep a small one in the backseat at all times. If you ever have a backfire when starting your car, immediately crank the engine again! it will suck the flames if there are any back into the intake thus putting the 'fire out'! No joke. Fiberglass will burn. it happened to me in 1975 with a sixpack in my Plymouth.

I really need to replace my extinguisher with a Halon or similar chemical that leaves NO residue although Halon works by depleting the Oxygen. The one I have now is simply a dry chemical, meaning that yellow powder will go everywhere including down your carbs, into the shaker if it's still intact ect.. Summit, Jeggies, Lane automotive, ect sell them. I guess it's better than watching your car burn to the ground. I think I'm going to update my fire bottle soon.

You will have to come up this summer. They are closing the restaurant where I Chef at soon so dont know if the MoPar Nats is happenin. 1500.00 if I tow the car myself. 2500.00 if the pro's do it. Either way a lot of money I may not have.

Thanks Danny. Know anyone that wants a gourmet Chef trained in Mid- eastern cuisine,(Greek, Lebanese, Jewish, Syrian) Most of these folks eat everything covered in gravy and order their food out of a clowns mouth!

Yes! NO! BTW, there are over 600 Restaurants in Terre Haute with 45k population! It's tough to 'make it' here. I think I'm going to open a Catering Service with my Mom. She's a Master Chef of that particular cuisine and taught me everything I know.(About food)

Danny, yes the 'Shaker' decal on the backside of the underhood has those little lines in it. It makes me dizzy looking at it for very long!
