Ok, so is there a separate gasket going between the filler neck and the tank? I took my tank apart when I was 12, so my memory's a little fuzzy, and the tank and neck were holed beyond repair, so who knows what was missing. I got a new tank in and it didnt come with anything like that. I still have whats left of the rubber boot that goes on the trunk floor, thats not the one I'm talking about.

The tank has a big rubber gromit in the opening. The filler neck pushes through that. Then you have the one pictured which is on the floor. Last of all is a foam gasket that sits between the end of the filler neck and the inside of the quater panel.

Chrysler still sells the fuel tank filler tube grommet if you get in a pinch. The one for the fender to filler tube can be easily made from either a rubber or a foam type material that won't melt if in contact with gasoline.
