Eddie, I don't see any way to hook the harness to the IC boards. Maybe the harness wires need to be hard wired to the board? Or am I missing the plug-ins on the boards?

OK, I found out how it screws together,lol. The main harness connects the PCM,(The silver bigger box), to the relay board with both ends as a 32 pin connector. Sorry Barc I didnt show it but they are there on both components. It's been pre-assembled for me, I was studying the wiring diagrams and didnt realize that the wiring was already done for me. Excellent! Now the relay board accepts the wiring from the injectors, sensors, batt 12 volt, keyed on, fuel pump, edis wiring. I communincate with my data link connector via a round serial port to the PCM when I load my mega-tune and VE tables. For that I am going to need someone with a lot more software knowledge than I. I can tell when the various sensors are running in a operational mode from my experience working on newer model Fuel injected vehicles, like the O2 sensor outputs in both AFR/Lambda which starts out as a base number of 1 instead of reading 450 millivolts,(ideal), Map outputs start with lower voltages than increase as load does, if it's a mechanical MAP sensor, digital Maps work off of a sample then calculate the rest, ect..But actually entering the changes to those tuning tables is a little tricky. there is this young girl in my electronics class, she loves engines! I'll ask her for help when the time comes! I figure since she is 'hooked' up like all these young kids are these days she'll know how to tune better than I!! :biggrin: I-POD, Blackberry, blueberry frankenberry ectt :biggrin:

Yeah Barc they have that there. There is so much info to digest. I was studying the various catagories but quickly realised that much of that info is for persons building their own motherboards. I'm not that smart. :lol: Today we downloaded the imbedded code but had trouble getting the right connections! I had ordered a serial port connector adaptor but it wouldnt download or comm with the PCM with it hooked up with the adaptor. I omitted it and it worked. We powered up the MegaSquirt PCM with the stimulator board and a 13.8 VDC power source, we then hooked up the Serial Port connector to the Laptop and downloaded the code. The MS-II has to have the stim attahed to download the imbedded code to memory, we didnt do that just yet. It makes no sense to do that until the hardware is ready to run due to continuous software updates. Team Mega-Squirt,(Eddie, Anna, Beemer Boy). Thats me in the middle, Anna thinks engines are hot, Beemer Boy Cory thinks BMW's are Hot.

Another of the setup. Damn, these kids are so smart! I went out in the shop to help with a repair, and in 1/2 hour they had absorbed everything I had learned in 6 months. By the end of the day I was asking them questions! :mrgreen:

No needs for worrie Drew. I believe the only one that have to wonder why Ed looks so contemplative and distracted after school is Ed's wife(?) :s004:

Actually both are quite smart on software/hardware but they have very little knowledge about engines or how one goes together. :wink: This project is unique in the fact that there are 3 subsystems that are being developed for each other, fuel system, PCM engine management, engine. They are incharge of PCM Engine management.

Oh 'Bouncin Betty' yeah I forgot about her wrath. Dont worry, I am referred to as the old man who digs muscle cars. No more no less. Hey Thanks Barc, for the distributor help. Barc, is sending me a 383 distributor so I can break my engine in safely, kudos to BARC!!! Thanks so much man, it really helps me out. I am running on empty :V8: I owe you bigtime! U need to get down here sometime Barc. I want to show you our new Auto Tech Center, it's 28 service bays, welding shop, hybrid tech center,(thats my baby) :lol: paint booth(meets Cali VOC air standards!) OK , I just got the fuel system info I had been researching along with parts list and equipment I'll need: 1) 1300 CFM FastMan throttle body with TPS and IAC installed 2) FastMan Low Impedance 55lb./Hr Injectors 3) Injector wiring harness 4) Aeromotive fuel pump/regulator capable of 600 H.P. return style/bypass design 5) 383 Victor Intake Aeromotive damn, I screwed this all up LOL, 2100.00 bucks!!! :tears: And I'm out of cash! Time to start selling more stuff I dont need! :wink2:

What's the gph rating on the pump? What are you expecting pressure-wise in the fuel system?

The aeromotive pump is a P11106 and it's capable of supporting up to 700+H.P. in F.I. and 900 H.P. in Carb applications, the main reason I want it is that Fastman,(Richard Nedbal), recommends it and it's safe with any type of fuel, it flows up to 90 GPH. The pressure will be around 50-60 PSI MAX (Same as GM Port Fuel Injection). With both types of fuel. The fuel pump will be wired in series to the MS and the ignition switch. If no start in 2 seconds the pump is disabled, until the next key on cycle.

Kudos' to Barc! Thanks a bunch man! I am going to use this along with an 750/850 Holley 4150 type carb to break-in the engine and I dont want to buy the parts if I can keep from it. I wont be using them after the all-important BI procedure so I asked a few friends/mates to help out with some parts to borrow, Barc helped out and another dude let me use his Holley,(Carb not wife), :lol: :thumbsup: I ordered the Victor Intake and it will be here soon. It's all I could afford at the moment. next month I need to get the oil pump, intermediate shaft, block off plate,(I am going to make one myself)

I played around with the Ignition module today. The Ford Edis-8 and the power relay board all mounted on this alloy plate I cut. The teenagers put the declas there, I wouldnt do such childish things, , :lol: The PIP and SAW signal wires go the power relay board as does the 12 volt full time batt power and the 12 volt keyed on source. The ground is run to the board as well. These signal wires must be shielded and ground back to the module through the #7 wire. I dont know if I'll need the 2 wire pull connector taped to the plate. This is to place the module in base timing when used with a Ford PCM on their factory cars. I have to find out about it.

The rubber hose is from a Nissan. It pushes into a barb at the back of the PCM and provides the vacum for the 3 bar Map sensor thats built in the PCM and is capable of 21 psi of boost!

Just ordered a bunch of shortblock oiling parts. Milodon Deep Sump pan, windage tray,H.D. intermediate shaft, intake manifold, oil pump, mag drain plug, I'll post all the pics as soon as I get the parts in. I have decided to use a Crane Hydraulic Roller Cam. Too many 'horror' stories about flat tappet lifters both composite and regular flat tappet hydraulics and solids.(Thanks Fabian&Jeff), I am going with Detroit technology regarding roller designs but at much lower RPM's than a race plant. I simply cannot afford to have a valvetrain failure. My reputation will be on the line when and if I sell this engine. It MUST perform under all adverse conditions including forgetting the maintenance like setting valve lash or checking springs from time to time. A hydraulic roller is just the ticket. It will have plenty of power from idle to 6000+ RPM's for what I am going to do with it. Have a smooth idle and plenty of vacum for power brakes. :thumbsup:
