Summit Racing stock a few different makes of rich lean gauge. They also sell the sensors but any factory sensor out of a junk car will do if it is in good condtition.

One sensor on one side is good enough because each side of the engine is fed from both sides of the carb.

LM-1 makes em as well as Fast and and AEM. I have those bungs at my collectors. 239.00 for a really good quality wide range O2 sensor kit. Reading plugs is free! :mrgreen:

You don't need a wide range one Eddie. I always managed fine with a cheap one.

The thing is Eddie. You can read all the plugs you like but you have no way of knowing what your mixture is at;

Idle, in gear and out, just off idle, part throttle cruise, part throttle uphill, WOT, WOT for longer than 15 seconds etc etc.

All on the different individual carbs on your six pack.

I do. :wink:

Oh, dont get me wrong Dave, I am eventually going to get one! I love the fact that you can tell instantly! Plus, as you said the only REAL way to read plugs is to install a fresh set, blast at WOT or WFO then shut the engine down immediately, with little idle time as possible. Thats kinda hard to do for most enthusiasts. I think I am going to get this one, it's a little pricey but lab instrument quality for a decent price, can be used in car,(preferred), and has a memory! But you are very correct Dave, you can get them much cheaper . www.LM-1.com or www.innovatemotorsports.com check out the o2 shootout photo. It looks like a matrix movie poster :biggrin:

Drained the break in oil and the changed the filter today and refilled the crankcase.

On my magnetic drain plug, there was about ½ of a pencil erasers worth of metal shavings. Went through the drained oil with a magnet and cut open the filter, and found nothing else.

Should I be nervous about this :( ? Anything else to check out? Car ran so smooth, even idled at about 1,000 (for a few seconds before I shut it down - I know with a new engine that is not a good idea, just wanted to hear a little lump - :thumbsup: ). Started with no effort at all.

Thanks for any thoughts.

Rich, normal, nothing to worry about, except laying molten rubber on a stretch of sticky 'assphalt' with that torque! :mrgreen:

Sweet. I was hoping for that answer. Figured if I wiped the cam or piston rings, I could fill a coffee can with the shrapnel!

Thanks Eddie :D

I'm just glad to hear it sounds good and meets your expectations.I would check the oil and filter again at 500 miles when you do your next oil change or this spring when you thaw out like us. I am going to drive mine a couple more times before putting it up. I have an ominous feeling we will be able to drive year round this year in Ind/Ohio/Ill. while it's snowing many feet of snow in Pat's Home state! :biggrin:
