Need a new gas tank

Postby spitfire9137 » 30 Aug 2007 19:22

The gas tank in my 73 has a couple holes in it, one started leaking again awhile so I repatched and it held for a little bit but not long. So I am just going to buy a new one. The current tank has 4 vent lines coming out of the top of it going into a box. Do I still need all of this vent system? Can I just buy a tank for a 70 non ECS and be fine? What are differences in the tank setups, or should I just leave it alone and buy the correct tank for my 73?

I am sure you could live without all the pipes. But i don't think there is any difference in the price so a direct swap over might be easier?

Coincidentally, I have a Spectra Industry's tank on order from Adeals (Around $200 w/shipping). Also ordered a new sender, fuel, and brake lines which arrived this week. So far the brake lines are fitting fine. I will let you know about the tank when it arrives if interested.
