www.raybarton.com you can even get it in CGI! Compacted graphite Iron alloy, much stronger than even cast iron! Revised internal oil-pickup point, wedge or Hemi bolt pattern, heads get oiled direct from galley instead of cam, 4.600 bore with .200 thick at 4.600!

Thanks Ian, I have always wanted a Hemi! Heck who doesnt? My son is getting out of the Air Force next summer 07 and he has an A-body,a 1974 Valiant 2-door with the slant six. He promised me he would do the body and chassis and I would build the bullet! When the block gets here in a few months I will post the complete build-up and assembly on here! I want to try some different things and the abuse this new block is engineered to take should make for an interesting build-up.

Sounds Cool Ian, I would like to see some pics when you get time! Your daughter is gonna have a really cool car, wonder what her friends will think when they see her in it! Dave, NOPE, I am a stayin. The boy just had his first kid, and they are gonna move back to Ill. from California. He wants to get into Drag Racing and used to compete with an old Chevy pickup truck with a worked rodent motor, ran high 9s in the eighth,(I live two miles from an eight mile N.H.R.A. approved facility), I am not a great fan of drags and enjoy RoadRacing much more but he doesnt. So I may have to check that website out Dave! (just kiddin). :mrgreen:I wish he could have bought a Challenger for the 200.00 bucks he paid for the 74 Valiant/Dart rust free /6, he is a sheet metal tech in the Air Force and I can build Trannys and Engines so we should be able to knock this one out together and yes it will be HEMI powered!

Ian,you don't know how much I love that little car man! It's too cool. Say again what drivetrain you are going to "drop" in the ol gal! I bet that car doesn't/won't weigh more than a loaded Triumph!!And much faster to boot! For those that doubt, have you seen what Team MoPar Action has done to all that exotic iron in the One Lap Race and of course one of my all-time favorite drivers Scott Harvey Rallying in Europe and abroad in his Valiant then Barracuda. Also Charlie Manson drove a Valiant! The body and paint look fantastic! Those "rallye" stripes are a MUST!! :s009:

glad you approve eddie its just getting a /6 as its her first car i may put a sml block in it once shes a compitent enough driver & your right about the weight its lighter than the wifes p/t cruiser ive put v8 torsion bars out of a 70 valiant in it so itll be nice & firm up front i may have to stiffen the rear ill see how it goes hopefully ill have it all together soon so i can get the challenger done ive got a bit to do to get it licenced for the road
i get to drive the challenger tomorow it has to go & get a new windscreen itll be about a 70 mile round trip i had to get a permit it will be more fun than sticking it on a trailer
cheers ian

Have fun and wish I was riding with you bud!!That car is gonna be cool and I love what Randy Bolig has done with project Valiant in the MM mag. Those cars were built very well and I still see them on the road on occasion in factory form. Hope the Chally windshield goes well for you!

we found some rust under the screen so its back home to get fixed then itll go back in to get the screen fitted bit of a pain in the but coz the vinyl roof is as new & now i have to peel it back so the heat from welding doesnt effect it i am also suspicious about the fiberglass plug around the back window that will probably have rust to so i might just have to bite the bullet & trash the vinyl fix it all properly then get a new 1 bummer hey
cheers ian

Ian, sorry to hear about the rust issue hope you get it fixed and the vinyl survives the heat from the repairs. That is why I dont attempt body work. To me it's more like an artist than anything else and of course experience is everything. Better to get that rust now than causing more damage later.Keep us informed!
