Yeah that 440+6 Cuda is a very nice car. It has only been up here in the North for a couple of years.
Paint is looking a little tired now as it has been like that for at least 15 years? I was using the vivid colour setting on my little camera so the paint on the cars looked better. :D

I will try to catch the owner one day. The event is on every month now until October.

I drove the Challenger to my parents home this afternoon. I gassed up with Sunoco 94 Octane and when I pulled in the driveway the engine went "flat" it would Labor to rev and backfire. I shut it down and pulled the Shaker assembly,(I wanted to clean and check it any ways 17 fasteners!+2 for the cable bracket or bellcrank) after checking the basics,(plug wires, dizzy, alternator wiring, coil primary and secondary wiring ect.. all checked out OK), I pulled a spark plug, VIOLA' those babys were black, not soot covered or carboned up just black, like it was anodized black. The A/F ratio was spot on but the engine seemed to be missing something since I got it back from Dyno-Tuning after the Pro-max Six Pack Billet metering blocks where installed. The plugs were NGK-7 5671-7 v-power. I ordered a set of NGK FR5 and installed them. They are not a recessed plug as the 7's were and were a "hotter" plug with the insulator projected instead of flush with the base. The R/T fired up immediately and sounded much better, Of course I went for a cruise and the power and throttle response seems better. I think the recessed cold V-7's would be good for all out drag racing but for stop and go the FR5's are a better street plug. I have the following Holley Jets in my Six Pack set up. Primary is 64's Secondary's are jetted square with 84's A/F Ratio is between 12.5 to 13.0 :V8:

Talking about fuel prices and consumption? :)

PostPosted: 12 Jul 2007 12:50

There is so much "fuel" around here it's not even funny. The farmers grow it in abundance. It powers the fastest racing classes and is hard to detonate. It burns clean and is cheap and renewable. Just ask the fine folks of Brazil and Argentina!! The major oil companies,(oligarchs), have a lot of people fooled dont they! :s002: The price increase has caused more people to drive even further and longer. BTW, jr what does that chart have to do with a six-pack setup and driving it?

Is that what that things for Dave? I dont have the manual on it. It's a Vivitar 5100 with a symbol that I dont understand. This camera was given to me back when they first came out. Very poor quality. What type of NGK's do you run in your Chally Dave? I think you use NGK if I remember right.

Heres the plug. I moved the button that looks to me like a dog eating a mountain. If you need any help with modern electronic systems. I am your man!! :s009: BTW, I took about 30 minutes to change the plugs going at a slow and easy pace. I love those TTI's! I am sure the Dougs are just as pleasurable to RR plugs on your B/RB engine.

Speaking of which, Sunday Aug. 19 2007 at the Federal Penitentiary, Terre Haute, Ind. highway 63 South, there will be a Prison car show there, free to the public, all prceeds given to local charities, 10:00AM till 5:00 PM at the Training Center and Pavillion. I have spent the last week underneath polishing and rubbing,(the car  ), I also had to send pics to Galen Govier of my numbers on my engine, transmission and rear end.

My car will probably be the only MoPar let alone Challenger there. I better get used to hearing,"Is that a Camaro?" "I used to have a Superbee charger like that, it had a 383 hemi in it too!" I dont like MoPars but your is nice! Or the worse one is, " I had a Hemi car, I crushed and sent for scrap because it would never run right and ate gas! :?

Today I finished waxing the R/T in preparation for Sunday's car show. HorsePower Locked Up at the Federal Penitentiary. I also drained the manual transmission of it's Gear Lube and replaced it with Jaimie Passon's own Synthetic Blend. It resembles transmission fluid but is much "thicker" it also protects the "soft" metals yet reduces friction amd maintains cleanliness. 3.5 Qts. Using a suction gun with a 1 quart resorvoir makes the job easy. It also shifts much smoother and quicker after a test drive!

50% chance of ThunderStorms. I wont take the R/T out if any chance of rain. Sorry. No Pics as I wont attend without the R/T. :(

You mean to say that the car melts if it gets rained on!

Hey Eddie. Rain does nothurt cars. It is just Gods way of giving it a little wash.

And if you have penty of wax on there it runs right off.

Too much work to detail it back to perfection! Have had nights were I wake up in a cold sweat, dreaming I'm lost, it's "pouring down rain and hail", just shifted into third gear, and the mud and white rock is flinging against the sheetmetal.......

Took the R/T out today on a "powerrun" shifting at 5k and all that nice stuff. Came to stop sign, and the RPM's at idle are 1100 RPM. As I took off and got up to 65 MPH and held it there, the R/T started "surging", is this because the idle is a tad too high? I turned it down once, thinking the Amsoil 20W-50,(recent switchover from Mobil 1 tri-synthetic), reduced friction therefore the idle was a little high, and I turned the set screw 1/2 turn and brought it back down to 900. I guess I have to adjust it again. The only other change was the NGK FR5 new plugs I installed and switched from the NGK 7 that were a little too cold and fouled.

I have put these in order of what they sound like to me.

Vacuum leak?

Fuel leak?

Throttle stuck?

I got one more run in this afternoon with my neighbor, it ran just fine. Weird, I'll drive it to the Dodge dealership this afternoon and see what happens. The idle is 950 RPM's, it's got a pretty big cam,(288/296-.538) and is quite the thumper at idle. Thanks for the reply and advice Dave! BTW, I hope when they dynoed the car after the carb mods they didnt over torque the carb fasteners as this will cause the throttle plate to "stick" against the throttle bore per Holley instructions. If it happens again I'll check that.
