I just found this picture of a Challenger trunk on eBay. How come I don't have this pipe in my car? What is it?

I guess it is because you donĀ“t have the N95 option code on the fender tag. (See: http://challenger.mpoli.fi/forum/viewto ... =8213#8213 )

the nox system is something California emissions required back in the day.It has something to do with fuel vapor recovery. All California cars had to either come equipped or pass a certain emission standard.Every now and then you will find a clear with yellow lettering sticker on the dash or glove box where a car has passed that emission test. I can remember when you would get stopped at a check point and be tested right on the road back in the 60's and 70's.Sounds like yours is probably a factory sticker which I have seen also.California had strict emissions standards way back when and are worse now.Right now in Ca. 1974 and older vehicles do not need to meet the standards but 75 and newer still have to so I tell everyone from out of the state that if you are looking at a California car 1975 or newer and it won't pass our smog check for unburned fuel in the exhaust the car is pretty much junk out here and could only be carb problems or injectors .Cosidered by our dept of motor vehicles as no longer road worthy.
